2018 Kentwater Cleanup Day

Are you looking for a surefire way to…

…increase your energy?

…lose weight?

…get that elusive “workout” in?

…meet your neighbors and beautify our little part of West Cobb?

Well you can meet at least 50% of those goals with the 2018 Kentwater Cleanup Day on October 13th!

In all seriousness, I don’t think there’s one person in the neighborhood who hasn’t notice that the front entrance has been looking less than stellar. After getting some rather pricey quotes, the HOA Board has decided to resurrect this ancient tradition in order to save our money.

What will we be doing, you may ask?

We did a walkthrough of the landscaping with Kentwater’s landscaping service to discover what needs to be done. As you can see from the pictures, there are several dead and overgrown bushes that have just reached the end of their lives. We’ll be removing as many as we can from the front fence areas along Stilesboro, as well as those that are obscuring the monuments in the front. There are also some near the clubhouse we’ll remove.

It’s a big job, so we need as much help as possible.

What should you bring, you might ask?

Shovels (for digging up the plants). Chainsaws (in case we need to get REALLY TOUGH). Clipping/pruning shears (to cut back some stuff). Pickup trucks (to collect up the debris).

So, set aside Saturday, October 13th and spend some time with your fellow Kentwaterians? Kentwaterites? Kentwater residents? and help us reduce the cost of annual maintenance for the neighborhood. We’ll also be working to lay a new electrical line out to the landscape lighting, and hopefully finally get that fixed.

We’ll start at 8 am and go until we die. Or finish what we need to (probably at least mid-afternoon).

Spend as much time as you can – an hour is better than none!

Contact the board if you have any questions, and we’ll hope to see you there!

New security for the pool house gate

Today (Friday, June 15th) we’re adding a new layer of security to the pool house gate. A welder will be adding an 18″ extension across all parts of the entrance to the pool.

The extension will stop those who don’t know the pool code from reaching over the top and letting themselves in.

While this has been a problem in years past, this year in particular it seems to be an issue. Several Kentwater residents have discovered people from outside of the neighborhood letting themselves in.

The Board felt that this was a necessary investment in the security of the pool. We hope it also eliminates the awkwardness of confronting someone who asks to be let into the pool area without the code.

Rest assured that if someone doesn’t know the code, they have not been given the code. This is because they are either not current on their dues (which pay for the upkeep and maintenance of the pool) or they live outside of the neighborhood.

If the person insists that they have paid their dues, please tell them to contact the board through this website and our contact form. The board will make sure to investigate the situation and respond.
